Watching on Chaturbate is free, so how do models get paid? Through tips. This guide explains how tipping works on Chaturbate: what tokens cost, how much a tip is worth to the model, how tip menus and goals work, and how to tip without overspending.
Prices change by region, payment method and promotion. Always check the final price at checkout. Figures below were accurate at the time of writing (October 2026).
Tokens: Chaturbate's currency
You can't tip in dollars directly. You buy tokens first, then tip tokens to models.
What do tokens cost? Prices depend on the package. Small packages cost more per token, and larger packages come with bonus tokens. Roughly:
| Package (approx.) | Price per token |
|---|---|
| Small (around 100 tokens) | about $0.11 |
| Medium (around 400–500 tokens) | about $0.10 |
| Large (1,000+ tokens) | about $0.08 |
So 100 tokens cost roughly $8–11 depending on the package you buy.
How much does the model get? The commonly cited broadcaster rate is $0.05 per token. A 100-token tip is worth about $5 to the model, regardless of what you paid for the tokens.
How much is a "normal" tip on Chaturbate?
There's no required amount, but some patterns are common across rooms:
- 1 token: a "hello" or a like. Many rooms use 1-token tips to unlock chat colors or greetings.
- 5–25 tokens: small requests or reactions, like a song request or a short toy reaction.
- 50–100 tokens: noticeable tips that usually trigger something on the tip menu.
- 500+ tokens: big tips, usually announced in chat and often a step towards the room goal.
The best guide is the room itself: almost every model posts a tip menu with prices.
Tip menus
A tip menu is a price list for requests. Tip the exact amount and the model knows what you're asking for. On Chaturbate, tip menus are usually run by apps and bots that the model adds to their room: when you tip a matching amount, the bot announces it in chat.
Tips for tip menus:
- Read it before tipping. Menus often use odd amounts (like 33 or 111 tokens) so each request is unique.
- Tip the exact amount. 100 and 101 tokens can mean different things.
- Use the tip note. You can add a short message with your tip, which helps when the menu item needs details.
Room goals
Many rooms show a goal: a total number of tokens the room is collecting for a bigger moment. Every tip counts towards it, and the progress bar is usually in the room subject. Goals are where big audiences come together: a room close to its goal often gets a rush of tips. Our Top 10 shows some of the busiest rooms this month.
Interactive toys (Lovense)
Some of the most popular shows on Chaturbate use interactive toys like Lovense, where your tip makes the toy react in real time. Usually, the bigger the tip, the stronger or longer the reaction. Rooms using them usually show a #lovense tag and a level chart (for example: 1–9 tokens = low, 10–49 = medium…). 37 of the 100 most followed Chaturbate rooms use the #lovense tag, so this is one of the most popular formats on the site.
Private, spy and ticket shows
Tokens aren't only for tips:
- Private shows: a one-on-one show billed per minute. The model sets the price, commonly from as little as 6 tokens a minute up to well over 100.
- Spy shows: watch someone else's private show without interacting, usually cheaper per minute than a private.
- Ticket and group shows: pay a fixed number of tokens to join a show with other viewers.
The price is always shown before you start, and per-minute shows end when you leave or run out of tokens.
How to tip on Chaturbate (step by step)
- Create a free account on Chaturbate. You need one to buy tokens and tip.
- Buy tokens from the "Get more tokens" button.
- Open a room and click Send Tip (under the video).
- Enter the amount, add an optional note, and send.
Your tip shows in chat with your username, unless you choose an anonymous tip, if that option is available on your account.
Tipping without overspending
Tipping is part of the fun, but it adds up quickly:
- Set a budget before you start, and buy a package that matches it rather than topping up mid-show.
- Remember the real cost: at the small-package price, 1,000 tokens is around $100.
- Watch the menu, not the hype. Rushes towards a goal can make tips feel urgent. They aren't.
Watch smarter: be there when it matters
A lot of tipping action happens at the start of a show, when goals are set and the room is filling up. If you follow a model, the easiest way to be there on time is an alert:
- Open the model's page on ModelTrackr and tap Alert me. You'll be notified within about a minute of them going live.
- Check their schedule to see when they usually stream.
- Use the Chat & tip button on any live model page to jump straight into the room.
